About the Sionnach Adventure!

The Sionnach Adventure is an opportunity to backpack in some of Ireland’s mountains and islands. Sionnach also offers you an opportunity to develop your navigation, lightweight backpacking, personal development and teamwork skills in wild countryside, and most of all to have fun.

Run 3 times a year a typical adventure runs from a Friday night to a Sunday afternoon. Each team is required to be self sufficient in food, cooking equipment and other hill walking gear. The routes are run through remote areas and require the patrols to be well prepared. Sionnach Adventures are staffed by experienced hillwalkers who plan the route and run activity based checkpoints along the route, however, the emphasis is on the patrol learning through doing and being reasonably independent. Sionnach Adventures are non-competitive.Sionnach Adventure - Who Can Participate?
